Blue Frog has cemented its position as NZ’s most awarded breakfast cereal, by receiving three awards at the recent 2020 ‘Outstanding Food Producer’ awards – including a gold medal and ‘FMCG Business Outstanding New Product Champion’ for our Manuka Honey & Hemp Heart Probiotic Porridge. According to the judging panel, “this is ‘porridge with attitude and panache! Kudos for reinventing a breakfast staple with NZ ingredients and just a hint of sweetness.’ It seems like Blue Frog founder Scotty Baragwanath has achieved his vision to make the ‘world’s best tasting cereal’ showcasing taste and health”.
Pushing the flavour and function barrier is a core part of who we are at Blue Frog, so it was fantastic that our world’s first collagen cereal (and NZ’s first dragon fruit cereal) – Black Doris Plum, Dragon Fruit & Coconut was awarded a silver medal. This product was created to be beautiful from the inside out and has become a fast favourite with consumers.
Lastly, our desire and insight to reinvent kid’s breakfast away from sugar-laden products – Coco Munch – was awarded a bronze medal. This was designed to be another first to the category, through the use of Monk Fruit as a natural sweetener. This product came to life as Scotty (CEO and Dad) realised many kid’s cereals have more sugar per bowl than a Krispy Kreme doughnut. Using our Blue Frog way of thinking, he knew we could create something which tasted awesome, but better nutritionally and it is great to see that others agree the taste is amazing.
All of our awards (we have now won more than 15 over the past 4 years) are underpinned by our company values. We aim to support our NZ wherever we can, which includes being a living-wage certified employer, adhering to the Be Accessible charity principles, supporting Eat My Lunch and their volunteers and careful consideration of water use during production.
